Howard Fischer

Howard Fischer was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Basso Capital Management, where he led the firm’s business operations, marketing, and investment initiatives. He also managed portfolios focused on public convertible securities hedging and SPAC arbitrage strategies.
Fischer is currently Chief Evangelist and a member of the Board of Stewards at Gratitude Railroad, an impact investment firm he co-founded in 2013 after participating in Harvard University’s Advanced Leadership Initiative. He also serves on the investment committee of the Builders Fund, an impact growth equity fund, and advises Collaborative Capital Advisors, a multi-family office.
His philanthropic work includes board service with The Carbon Underground and 1% for the Planet, and membership on the investment committee of the Jacob Burns Film Center. Fischer is an Ambassador for The Real, a men’s mental health advocacy organization, and an active member of White Men for Racial Justice.
An avid hiker, skier, cyclist, gardener, and reader, Fischer brings his passion for connection, growth, and stewardship to all aspects of his work and life.
