Betsy Schwartz

Betsy Schwartz brings to ALI experience as a mental and behavioral health advocate at the national, state, and local levels. She served as vice president of public education and strategic initiatives for the National Council for Behavioral Health, an advocacy group for 3,000+ member organizations delivering mental health and addiction treatment and services. Betsy leads the Council’s Mental Health First Aid USA program that has trained over 2 million Americans to recognize and respond appropriately to persons with mental health or addiction problems. Earlier, she was the CEO of Mental Health America of Greater Houston, significantly growing its staff, resources, and impact. Betsy has served on several nonprofit boards and been appointed to several oversight committees for her behavioral health expertise.
