Jessica Faieta

Jessica Faieta brings to ALI 30 years of experience at the United Nations, leading Latin American development programs focused on poverty reduction, environmental sustainability, humanitarian and disaster response, democratic governance, women’s empowerment, and peace building. A native of Ecuador, she most recently led the U.N. Development System in Colombia; previously, she was U.N. Assistant Secretary-General and UNDP Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, responsible for the U.N. country teams and development programs in 33 countries. Jessica led all UNDP post-disaster recovery efforts following the 2010 Haiti earthquake, had country-level responsibilities for the UNDP in El Salvador, Argentina, Belize, Panama, Guyana, and Cuba, and also was chief of staff for the U.N. Deputy Secretary-General.
