Katie Kwo Gerson

Katie Kwo Gerson brings to ALI her combined experience in nonprofit, corporate, civic, and creative endeavors. A civic leader, Emmy Award-winning media producer, and entrepreneur, she spent 14 years as a Marketing Executive at Hallmark Cards, Inc., and has transferred those skills to a robust civic life. She is a founding partner of an internationally recognized collaborative conference that brings civic, corporate, and nonprofit communities together to spark change across the American Midwest, including Kansas City, Missouri. Katie has spent more than two decades working to close opportunity gaps for underserved communities and is Board Chair of University Academy, one of the nation’s highest-performing K-12 charter public schools. She serves on boards and in leadership roles for organizations advancing women’s leadership, economic and entrepreneurial opportunity, social cohesion, and a more equitable America. Through her media platforms, including an Emmy Award-winning documentary, she amplifies unheard voices and connects people across difference.
