Jim Murren

James Murren brings to ALI a distinguished record in corporate leadership, public service, and philanthropy. As chairman and CEO of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, he helped define ultra-luxury cruising. Previously, as chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International, he steered one of the world’s largest hospitality companies through major expansion, delivering resorts in Maryland, Massachusetts, and Macau. His tenure saw bold diversity and inclusion initiatives, free college for employees, and landmark projects including T-Mobile Arena and Allegiant Stadium. Earlier, as president and CFO of MGM MIRAGE and CFO of MGM Grand, he drove strategic growth and environmental innovation.

Jim has held numerous board positions across sectors. He is the current chairman of the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). Jim served as chairman of the Nevada COVID-19 Response Task Force and co-founded the Nevada Cancer Institute. He launched the Center for Women, Gender and Global Leadership at Howard University through his family foundation. Jim has also served as trustee at Brookings, Howard University, and Trinity College.
