Michael O’Hare

Michael O’Hare brings to ALI a global career in human resources leadership, organizational transformation, and business growth across sectors and regions. He most recently served as chief human resources officer at The Estée Lauder Companies, where he led a global HR function supporting 75,000 employees and played a central role in major acquisitions, leadership succession, and performance culture transformation. Prior to that, Michael was Global CHRO at Heineken International and held senior roles at PepsiCo across Asia-Pacific, Greater China, and North America, leading large-scale reorganizations, M&A integrations, and workforce strategy. He began his career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch.

Throughout his career, Michael has contributed to the advancement of human capital and labor practices through service on the advisory board of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and as secretary-treasurer of the National Academy of Human Resources. He headed Estée Lauder’s ESG activities, led the company to become the largest corporate contributor to HIV-related causes, and developed a program to help 11th graders at The Young Women’s Leadership School of Brooklyn navigate the college admissions process.
