We look forward to welcoming you to the 2020 (virtual) Final Symposium on Tuesday, December 1st to Friday, December 4th.
2020 is a year that has laid bare some of the deepest challenges, inequities and divides in our society and highlighted the pressing need for social impact leadership to help build and restore a healthy, just and sustainable world. Members of the ALI Community have stepped up to innovate, collaborate, and take action together in new ways in response to the ongoing challenges.
ALI’s Final Symposium is a celebration of that work and an important reminder of the social impact that ALI is designed to advance. Over the course of three days, we will feature inspiring guest speakers, opportunities to network with socially-minded colleagues, and opportunities to hear and contribute to the work of ALI’s 2020 Cohort.
Of course, the central feature of the event are presentations by members of the ALI 2020 Cohort. Presentations will be grouped by topic and are open to all Symposium participants. Each presenter will outline their strategy for making an impact on their social impact issue of focus, and invite discussion and input to maximize the impact of their work. Previews of their work are available below in the form of 1-paragraph summaries as well as full papers.
We will close on the fourth day with an inspiring social innovation dialogue with a panel of accomplished Ashoka Fellows and a virtual certificate ceremony to celebrate the completion of the 2020 Fellowship Year. Despite the challenges of this year, the 2020 cohort has built strong bonds and developed impressive and impactful social impact plans. We encourage ALI Coalition members to join the closing certificate ceremony to hear from inspiring closing speakers and reminisce about your own ALI year.
