ALI Welcomes New Faculty Board Members Alan Jenkins and Peter Tufano

The Advanced Leadership Initiative (ALI) is proud to announce the addition of two new members to its Faculty Board, Alan Jenkins of Harvard Law School, and Peter Tufano of Harvard Business School.

ALI’s mission is to provide world-class education, skill building and collaboration opportunities to a diverse, global community of experienced and committed leaders, enabling sustainable social impact at scale. The ALI Faculty Board engages Faculty from 10 schools across the Harvard campus to advance inter-disciplinary learning on social impact leadership.

Alan Jenkins will join the Faculty Board from the Harvard Law School. Jenkins is a Professor of Practice at Harvard Law School where he teaches courses on Race and the Law, Communication, and Supreme Court Jurisprudence. Before joining the Law School faculty, he was President and Co-Founder of The Opportunity Agenda, a social justice communication lab and was previously Assistant to the Solicitor General at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he represented the United States government in constitutional and other litigation before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Peter Tufano will join the Faculty Board from the Harvard Business School where he is Baker Foundation Professor and Senior Advisor to the newly created Harvard Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability. Before joining the Business School, he was a the Peter Moores Dean at Said Business School at the University of Oxford. Prior to that, he oversaw HBS’ tenure and promotion processes, campus planning, and university relations and was the founding co-chair of the Harvard i-lab. His current work focuses on business solutions to climate change.

Both Jenkins and Tufano will bring insights and immense knowledge about social impact to the Faculty Board. “As both scholars and leaders in their space, Professor Jenkins and Professor Tufano’s deep expertise will enhance our board and our program.” said Brian Trelstad, ALI Faculty Chair and William Henry Bloomberg Senior Lecturer of Business Administration and Joseph L. Rice, III Faculty Fellow.  “As our fellows engage in an array of social impact strategies, and pathways, guidance from our diverse Faculty Board is critical. The expertise in governing, law, and the intersections of finance and sustainability that our new board members bring to ALI is crucial for a holistic approach to broader social impact work. We are excited to welcome them to our Board.”
