Tim Merrill brings to ALI a dedication to uplifting young people, both in his native Camden, New Jersey and beyond. An education advocate, youth leadership developer, counselor, mentor, and pastor, he has helped under-resourced young people pursue productive lifestyles. Tim helped create Amachi, a national program mentoring 300,000+ young people with incarcerated parents; co-founded Community Education Resource Network, an adult education program that served 6,500+ participants and was New Jersey’s largest African American/Latino community-based program; founded Watu Moja, a global service program for Camden’s African American and Afro Latino young adults; and co-founded Street Psalms, a leadership training ministry of 1,000+ grassroots leaders serving the world’s most challenging communities.
