Deborah Brewster

Deborah Brewster brings to ALI a distinguished career spanning journalism, media strategy, and digital innovation. Most recently a senior executive at News Corp, she led corporate initiatives in strategy, acquisitions, and business development, including spearheading the company’s acquisition of Move Inc. Deborah also oversaw the launch of new digital platforms like Mansion Global and played a key role in forming the company’s AI policies. Prior to that, she served as deputy managing editor of The Wall Street Journal, where she helped modernize the publication, launched new sections, and led a 90-person visual journalism team.

Deborah began her journalism career in Australia before becoming a founding editor at FT.com and leading the global investing section of the Financial Times. She has held leadership roles at The Age and The Australian, and has contributed her expertise to global institutions through consulting engagements. She currently serves on several nonprofit and advisory boards, including Sentient Media and Animal Policy International.
